Nevill Holt Opera is holding auditions for Associate Artists and Emerging Artists for the 2022 season. These positions provide invaluable experience and opportunities for singers at the beginning of their opera careers in an award-winning opera company. The positions also involve education work and participation in our concerts and events from October 2021 to July 2022.
Associate Artist – Nevill Holt Opera’s Associate Artists are singers at postgraduate level, currently at opera school as well as recent graduates. Associate Artists will also be considered for named and cover roles.
Emerging Artist – Nevill Holt Opera’s Emerging Artists are singers at undergraduate level, currently attending music conservatoire.
“It was incredibly exciting and eye-opening spending this summer performing at Nevill Holt Opera. The whole experience was an example of outstanding teamwork and friendship. Whilst working on the two different operas simultaneously was at times demanding, we all felt involved and valued in the creative process of producing these standout productions”
“The festival was great fun and felt like a really important stepping stone in my career – it was my first professional role in a summer opera festival and it felt like an exciting opportunity for me to show what I can do to the wider opera world”
Both Associate and Emerging Artists will also be asked to join our winter performances of Handel’s Messiah. Prior knowledge of the solos and choruses in Messiah would be an advantage. Auditions will take place on October 14th and 15th in Central London. You may wish to prepare arias from our 2022 productions; La bohème and Il barbiere di Siviglia.
