The celebrated oboist and artistic director of LIMF Nicholas Daniel is joined by musicians including violinist, Jack Liebeck, violist, Tetsuumi Nagata, cellist, Ashok Klouda, pianist, Danny Driver, and flautist and Momentum Now Artist Meera Maharaj. The programme includes Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending for violin and piano and Fauré’s 1st Piano Quartet alongside music by Clara Schumann and Eleanor Alberga.
NHO is delighted to partner with the Leicester International Music Festival for its first concert in our theatre. The Leicester International Music Festival was founded in 1989, with Nicholas Daniel, the oboe virtuoso, appointed as Artistic Director in April 2003. The Festival's distinguished Patrons include the composers Sir James McMillan KBE and Thea Musgrave CBE, and BBC Ceramicist, Lars Tharp. Leicester has a history of attracting the finest musicians to work with local talent including Sir Malcolm Sargent with the Leicester Symphony Orchestra, Kathleen Ferrier with the Bach Choir, Sir Michael Tippett with the Leicestershire Schools Symphony Orchestra and LIMF's patron, Paul McCreesh with the Leicestershire Chorale. LIMF continues to attract international recognition for the high quality of its musical performances, attracting world-class artists to its programme of lunchtime concerts and Festival.
